A Message From the First Aid Liaisons

On behalf of the Their Royal Majesties of Atenveldt you to Estrella War!!  Our greatest desire is that you have a safe and enjoyable experience while you enjoy the hospitality of the Kingdom of Atenveldt.  Unfortunately, unexpected medical issues arise, and the chirurgeonate (First Aid Tent) and war staff have gone to great lengths to ensure that appropriate medical care, if needed, is available.

First Aid Point Services and Hours of Operation

First and foremost, we need to stress that the First Aid Point is here to serve your first aid needs. We are able to offer first aid as necessary, but are limited to basic first aid care only. Services that we are able to provide are:
  • Basic bandaging (Bandaids and Ace Wraps)
  • Ice Packs for Injuries
  • Basic Dehydration Management
  • Charging Station for Medical Equipment during operational hours
  • Directions to outside medical services
  • Coordination with On-Site and Off-Site Emergency Medical Personnel
**We are not permitted to dispense any medications; if you require medication we will gladly arrange for EMS treatment and/or direct you to the closest pharmacy for assistance**
The First Aid Point will be open from 8AM-8PM every day. We will also have an on-call EMS Liaison available for after-hours needs. Watch Point is able to contact the on-call EMS Liaison for immediate assistance after-hours. If you are unable to get to Watch Point, or need assistance after 8PM, contact any member of the war staff, and they will coordinate contact with an on-call personnel. If you have a radio available, you may also call over the First Aid channel directly for assistance.

Medical Emergencies

We always hope that the need for emergency care is not needed, but in an event of this size it is, unfortunately, inevitable. For that reason, we have employed paramedics who will be residing on-site for the duration of the war.  If you have a medical emergency, contact any First Aid or war staff member, and they will coordinate the assistance of the site paramedics. If you wish to transport yourself for emergency care, the closest emergency room is located just 2 miles from the Estrella War Site: Banner Ironwood Medical Center, 37000 N Gantzel Rd, San Tan Valley, AZ 85140.  There are also several urgent care centers and/or pharmacies within a few minutes drive from the site. More information is available at the First Aid Point. In the event that an ambulance is needed for a medical emergency, the war staff must assist the emergency personnel to the location of the emergency. This is a logistically complicated task, requiring blocking of traffic on the site, and closing of roads for a short period. Please be patient when this happens and follow all directions by the war staff. We must ensure the safety of all, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Things to Consider

This is Arizona. It can get hot, dry, windy and dusty. If you have allergies, we recommend bring your allergy medication with you and taking it as directed. Although this time of year is not usually excessively hot, dehydration is still a concern. Please hydrate adequately.  This is the Valley of the Sun. Please wear sunscreen and/or a hat with a visor when not in a covered area.  Animals: We have scorpions, rattlesnakes, coyotes, and other such wildlife. Simple rule: If it is not your pet, DON’T TOUCH IT OR FEED IT! In most cases, animals will stay away from the site, but be vigilant and use caution. This is a working farm, surrounded by other working farms; as such there are frequently honey bees…DO NOT KILL THE BEES! Please alert war staff if you have a concern and/or need assistance with the relocation of any bees. If you are highly allergic to any insects, we highly recommend having your emergency medications readily available. Lastly, if you have a known medical condition that you feel is important for our on-site EMS staff to be aware of (For Example; Pregnancy close to delivery time, Active seizure disorders, Severe Asthma, etc.) PLEASE come to First Aid and alert us to your camping location and provide us with your on-site/off-site emergency information. If there is an emergency during your stay, we will be prepared to provide the best and most appropriate care to you, if we have this information.
